“Did we just become backpackers?” {Seattle Landscape Photographer}

Snowmageddon 2012

It might have made me go a little stir crazy

Maybe a little cabin fevery

My husband and I decided we had a few hikes that we wanted to tackle this summer

I dreamt of summer, hiking through the mountains and sleeping under the stars

OH and snapping my shutter all along the way

My husband dreamt of fold-able fishing poles, cool new backpacking gear and a cot condensed into a tiny cube that you dump water on for it to expand and set up.

Yeah, that last part isn’t really possible but I didnt want to burst his bubble

After all, he just agreed to hike through the mountains carrying all of our stuff!

He can have whatever he wants

I looked at him and asked him if we just became backpackers?

Yup, I think so!

We will use it lightly for now, since we are just starting to train and the only backpacks we own have been to take a laptop to and from places.

I dug through some pictures from a trip we took last year

We want to revisit but there are some other spots we scoped out that we will set up camp at

Sky’s A Fire – #4 for my 52 week project {Seattle Landscape Photographer}

What I am finding with my 52 week project so far is a focus on landscapes

What I learned this week:

is that perfect weather doesn’t make the perfect shot

is that perfect weather doesn’t make the perfect shot

Yes, I typed that twice!

I learned this lesson a while back with a shot and I think I had forgotten!

We’re talking dramatics here people!

At the last minute we (my poor husband who I drug out in the rain) to Picnic Point Park in Lynnwood

It was raining cats and dogs all the way down there

I traipsed around checking out the perfect spot to shoot from

They sky was breaking open right over sunset

I took a couple facing the sunset but when I turned around the sky was absolutely pink!

I wanted the dramatics!

This was the final image

52 Week Project Image #2 & #3 {Seattle Fine Art Photographer}

With the weather we have had around here lately I was lucky enough to have a small lake close to my house

I went out for sunset

but was pleasantly surpised with how this shot came out

It was turned away from sunset and ended up being my favorit

My goal has been to get sharp focus through out my landscape images

I am very happy with how this turned out!

Going strong on my 52!

Hope you guys are enjoying so far!

52 Week Project #1 {Seattle Wedding Photographer}

Here I am again

I find myself with the desire to push my boundaries

to learn more

to learn more about photography

and not just about photography

but about myself and my limits

I would not be honest or saying the right thing to say that I already know everything there is to know about photography

It takes a constant quest for knowledge and an accepting heart to know that there is ALWAYS something to learn

My goal for a 52 project… is well… not only to finish it, but to learn something new each and every week

This well help me grow from a personal and professional stand point

I want to grow with you

after all, you are who I want to capture

you are who I want to document the most important aspects of your lives

I want you to believe in me as I believe in being there for you

So come along on this journey with me!

I cant promise what all the photos will be but I know it is going to be a great deal of fun!

After all, one of the first blogs I ever posted was because I almost got hit by a rogue donut while photographing the sunset in Edmonds!

Lets learn and see the trials and the fun that go along with a 52 week project and PLEASE if you are doing one too share it with me so I can follow along! Lets inspire our peers and better our craft together!

Here is my week #1

Happy New Year! {Seattle Wedding Photographer}

Kristen & Chris at DeLille Cellars {Seattle Wedding Photographer}

What a beautiful couple and beautiful intimate ceremony this one was!

A couple who really are deeply in love

and I feel like their photos share every single emotion

Kristen got ready at The Willows Lodge just down the road

We then moved on to meet the Groom at the stunning DeLille Cellars

This place was a photographers dream

The decor and the location itself is in the beautiful Woodinville wine country

The Groom was in tears by the time his future wife stepped foot on the aisle down to him

Check out this amazing couple!

Cindy & Jeremy at the Lake Union Cafe {Seattle Wedding Photographer}

I know, I know

I said it was coming…

I just didn’t say when exactly

But

It’s here now!

Cindy and Jeremy got married at the Lake Union Cafe on October 15th 2011

I had wonderful second shooter, Janessa, with me to help me capture all the fun!

There was a party bus for getting to and from photo locations

Trips down town and to the wooden boat park

and to take photos with the amazing Rolls Royce they rented for their get away car!

Lots of pictures in this blog

What a wonderful evening and I am SO honored to be their wedding photographer

Now

I’ll stop talking! ( ha ha my husband says that will never happen!)
